Luxury Facial & Body Treatments
Treatment of localised adiposity
Aqualyx®, was developed for the reduction of localised fat that sits under the skin and is a gel-based aqueous solution. This dissolves the fat cells and is completely biodegradable.
Aqualyx® works by causing the dissolution of fat cells. The body then expels the released fatty acids naturally.
One area costs from £300-£400 per treatment for both sides of your body.
Aqualyx is a compound solution from the deoxycholate family that has been physically modified and, by creating a slow release sugar-based system, the biological half-life is reduced which results in minimal side effects.
The treatment should only be performed by a Doctor or Surgeon,Dentist and Nurse with specialist training and criteria. Our lead Nurse Kerry Stevenson has passed the criteria to be able to treat her patients independently.
Patients report good tolerance of the treatment.
The treatment will be repeated between two and eight times depending on the number of small pockets of fat tissue to be reduced. The treatment is repeated every four weeks.
After each treatment patients can expect some swelling, bruising redness and skin irritation and tenderness in the area treated, which will subside after four to six days. Swelling occurs in the chin area
Contraindications: pregnancy and lactation, liposdystrophy, pathological conditions and for those under 18 years or over 60 years.
A reduction in fat deposits can usually be seen after just one treatment, however between three and eight sessions are required to see the optimal effect. The speed at which results are seen will vary depending on the stability of the cell membranes; younger patients are more likely to results after a longer period. Results may vary from patient to patient and case by age.
It is suitable for patients who do not want the more invasive liposuction or laser lipo treatments, who do not have large amounts of fat to remove and who are over 18 years and under 65 years of age. However this is used off licence. The treatment is not suitable for pregnant or lactating women or those with a pathological condition.
